Name used by any company, person or partnership for conducting their business is referred as Business Name.
Business Name Checks:
Before using a business name, it should be made sure that any other business is already using that name or not. So in order to check the availability of a business name a) a solicitor can be consulted b) relevant magazines and trade journals can be used to see if any company is already using that business name or not.
Legal difficulties can be confronted if a business name already used by a company is used.
Business names should not conflict with a registered trademark.

Company not trading under its corporate name, for example 'Business Names Limited' trading as 'UK Company',
When the names of all partners is not used for trading in a partnership,
An Individual not trading under his or her surname. For example Business Names Act would apply to Mr XYZ Smith if he traded as 'Smith Business Registration' but not if he traded as 'Smith' or 'XYZ Smith'.
